The replacement of the 86,000 square foot roof on the Hobby Lobby store is an example of many instances that a long-lasting roof does not need to cost a lot of money. In this case, the original gravel ballasted EPDM rubber roof on the building was not installed correctly, and the owner contacted us to replace it. We removed the gravel ballast and the existing rubber roof, replaced the wet roof insulation, then installed a new Firestone 60 mil EPDM rubber roof system. The gravel ballast was then reapplied. Hobby Lobby now has a roof on which they can rely for at least the next 20 years.
